Referred by a Cottesloe couple Ryan had previously assisted, the client lived in southern Western Australia and regularly travelled to Perth to spend time with friends. These visits often meant staying in someone else's home, and she increasingly wanted a place of her own where she could settle in, entertain and enjoy the city independently while remaining close to the people who formed an important part of her Perth life.
She had been watching the market with friends for an extended period, considering different properties but repeatedly becoming caught in the question of whether each one was the right purchase. As the market continued to move, opportunities within her preferred suburbs were becoming more limited. A friend encouraged her to engage Ryan to help distil her thoughts, establish clear priorities and turn a long held intention into a confident property decision.
The apartment ultimately secured was the first property she inspected with us. Although we viewed several other options that weekend, this residence immediately stood apart. It offered the lifestyle location, proximity to friends and walkability she wanted, together with the space and outdoor entertaining capacity needed to make it feel like a genuine home rather than simply somewhere to stay.
Being the first apartment inspected created an understandable hesitation. The advisory work therefore involved helping her assess why the property was not only appealing, but unusually well aligned with her brief. Within many apartment buildings, layouts are relatively standard and repeatable. This residence was different. Its distinctive floorplan, generous proportions and connection between the living and entertaining spaces gave it a quality that would have been difficult to replicate within her preferred location and price parameters.
A second inspection gave her the opportunity to spend more time in the apartment and bring trusted friends through the property. This allowed her to experience the space more fully and test the decision against the lifestyle she had imagined. With greater clarity around the property's strengths and rarity, she trusted Ryan to manage the negotiation and secure it at a price she felt comfortable with.
After a long period of looking without being able to make the next move, the outcome came together more quickly than she had expected. The purchase gave her a connected, low maintenance Perth base where she could host friends, walk to the places she enjoyed and spend time in the city on her own terms. More than a convenient place to stay, it gave her a home of her own in Perth.
